Kingman woman arrested on drug charge

KINGMAN – A Kingman resident faces a felony possession of drug paraphernalia charge following her arrest Wednesday by Mohave County sheriff's detectives.

Detectives contacted Jamie Lee Houghton, 22, as she walked along Diagonal Way, a news release from the MCSO stated.

Detectives observed a pocketknife sticking out of Houghton's front pocket.

She was searched and a marijuana pipe allegedly was found.

A records check revealed misdemeanor warrants from Kingman Justice Court charging her with failure to appear and dogs at large.

Houghton was booked into the Mohave County Jail on the felony charge and warrants.

12-year-olds arrested in connection to burglary

KINGMAN – Two 12-year-old boys were arrested Thursday night on a felony charge of burglary in the second degree.

Kingman police received a call from a woman, who stated her son knew of a residential burglary in the 1900 block of Miami Avenue that happened Aug.

An X Box electronic game system, cell phone and wallet were stolen.

The items were valued at $320, Brice said.

The boy alleged that the stolen property was hidden in the backyard of the boy committing the burglary.

Officers recovered the X Box in the backyard and wallet in the bedroom of the suspect, who also lives in the same block.

The cell phone, valued at $100, was not recovered.

Investigation revealed the boy reporting the crime was involved, allegedly acting as a lookout, Brice said.

He and the boy he named were issued referrals and released to the custody of their parents.
