Cook to be extradited in wife's slaying

Steven Cook has waived his right to contest extradition to Arizona to hear charges in the slaying of his estranged wife.

Cook signed a waiver Thursday morning in Las Vegas Justice Court, Kingman police detective Dave Coffin said.

Coffin said the Mohave County Jail's extradition unit likely will bring Cook to Kingman early next week.

Mohave County Deputy Attorney Jace Zack said Cook will appear and have his bond set in Kingman Justice Court.

Cook, 41, was arrested in Las Vegas on Monday.

He had been a fugitive since the Dec.

26 slaying of Bonnie Lynn Cook, who was 36, and the aggravated assault of David Thompson.

Thompson, 36, who investigators believe was Bonnie Cook's boyfriend, was shot in the buttocks and fled to a nearby residence to call police.
