Longtime Joshua tree dump area cleaned to avoid a fire

A cooperative effort to clean up a five-acre illegal dump site near Lake Mead City began this week.

The Bureau of Land Management, the Mohave County Environmental Rural Area Clean-up Enforcement (ERACE) program, Waste Management Inc.

and the Grapevine Mesa Fire District are hauling dead Joshua trees from the five-acre section of public land, BLM Kingman Regional Office Spokesman Bob Hall said.
