Man's death under investigation

KINGMAN - The Mohave County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation into the circumstances and cause of death of a man found inside a trailer in a mobile home park Tuesday night.

About 6:55 p.m., a rescue unit and two personnel from the Valle Vista Fire Department responded to the trailer park in the 8100 block of Highway 66, Chief Jerry Lucero said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. MCSO spokeswoman Trish Carter was awaiting information on the death when contacted this morning. She could not say if the man appeared to have died of natural causes or if foul play was involved.

GV man injured in fall at home

GOLDEN VALLEY - A valley resident suffered a broken left leg Tuesday when a ladder shifted as he was climbing onto the roof of his residence, causing him to fall to the ground.

About 11:55 a.m., a rescue unit and two personnel from the Golden Valley Fire Department responded to the scene in the 3500 block of Eloy Road, Capt. Dave Cunningham said.

Kingman Ranger, the Arizona Department of Public Safety air rescue helicopter, flew the man to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he was admitted, pilot Steve Davis said.

Motorcyclist injured in crash

KINGMAN - A 40-year-old man suffered serious head injuries Tuesday when the motorcycle he was riding struck a pickup truck.

About 2:40 p.m., Kingman Fire Department personnel responded to the 3300 block of East Andy Devine Avenue, a news release from the KFD stated. Upon arrival, firefighters found the victim lying in the roadway being attended to by off-duty KFD personnel. The man was not wearing a helmet and was traveling at an unknown rate of speed when the collision happened.

He was first taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center and then airlifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas.

Woman facing drug charges

KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Marina Marie Montoya, 22, of Kingman early Saturday on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and two misdemeanor warrants.

Deputies observed a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign at the corner of Neal Avenue and Tommie Drive, a news release from the MCSO stated.

About 1:25 a.m., deputies stopped the vehicle and contacted Montoya, the driver. A records check on her revealed a failure-to-appear warrant issued by Kingman Municipal Court and a warrant for interfering with judicial proceedings issued by Kingman Justice Court.

Montoya was taken into custody. A search of her vehicle allegedly uncovered a metal container that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Montoya was booked into Mohave County Jail.

Warrant lands local man in jail

KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested James Michael Hada, 38, of Kingman Saturday on a felony parole violation warrant issued by the California Department of Corrections.

About 2:56 a.m., deputies made a traffic stop on Interstate-40 at the Stockton Hill Road exit, a news release from the MCSO stated. A records check on Hada found the warrant.
