Juvenile slightly injured in store accident

KINGMAN A 7-year-old boy went to Kingman Regional Medical Center on Wednesday with minor injuries after a car crashed into a convenience store.

About 2:42 p.m., Kingman fire and police units responded to the 3400 block of Stockton Hill Road, a news release from the Kingman Fire Department stated. Upon arrival, firefighters found a 2002 Honda sedan approximately 5 feet inside the store. The youth was seated at a table and was slightly injured by the car and debris.

The female driver, identified as Nancy Kotanan, 59, of Kingman was backing up and struck a protective barricade. She may have panicked at that point and hit the accelerator, causing the car to crash through the front of the store.

Police determined Kotanan was not impaired at the time and she was not cited, Sgt. Wes Bauer said.

Kotanan was not hurt in the accident.
