KINGMAN Kingman residents can expect near record highs this week with forecasters predicting a high of 106 degrees today and 107 degrees on Wednesday.
According to meteorologist Andy Bailey of the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, "There is a pretty large level of high pressure building over the desert southwest. This kind of pressure produces very high temperatures."
The spike in heat is only supposed to last a couple days, with temperatures dropping off again starting Thursday and continuing over the weekend.
"The front is right above Kingman and then will be dissipating," Bailey said.
The record high for July 12 is 106 degrees, and the record high for July 13 is 109.
