Chester D. Prue
Chester D. Prue passed from this life to eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on July 13, 2005. He was born to Burt and Velma Prue in Red House, N.Y., on Aug. 23, 1925. Chester is survived by his wife of 29 years, Erma Prue. One son, Michael, and three daughters, Linda, Cindy and Jackie Lynn, survive him. Three grandchildren, Tammy, Leslie and Ashley, also survive him. Two great-grandchildren, Kristen and Daryl, survive him; also two sisters-in-law, Be Murphy of Silver City, N.M., and Velma Harrison of Hazel Hurst, Miss.; and many nieces and nephews.
Chester served in the United States Navy for thirty years in both active and reserve status. He served his country in three wars World II, Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the Navy as a chief aviation machinist 3. Chester maintained a membership over the years with the Fleet Reserve Association.
Chester spent many years as a salesman and operator of a service station in Sanderson, Ariz. He also continued his education in studies of locksmithing and computers.
A memorial service will be held at College Park Baptist Church, 1990 Jagerson Ave., at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 23.
