Obituaries for July 26, 2005

Christina M. Buus

Christina Marie Buus, who was born Aug. 28, 1985, in Kingman, was tragically taken from us July 18, 2005. She was born and raised in Kingman, attending school here and graduating in 2003 from Kingman High School.

While in high school, she was a cheerleader for several years, where she made many friends. Christy was also a member of 4-H since the age of 9. Her most prized pet in 4-H (and the one that all the other kids knew) was "Duck-Duck." He was Grand Champion Waterfowl for almost all the years he was entered in competition and brought home many ribbons and trophies for Christy.

As Christy was growing up here in Kingman, she made many, friends (too many to list here, but you all know who you are), and we are sure she would like you to know how much your friendships meant to her. Christy worked at JC.Penny here in Kingman before transferring to Henderson, Nev., with her boyfriend, Stephen Torgerson. Upon returning to Kingman last July, she worked for Medical Clinics of Arizona.

Christy is survived by her parents, Tim and Loretta Buus; one sister, Nichole Marquez; two special nephews, Jason and Bladen; her grandparents, Melvin and Donna Buus of Custer, S.D., and Anita Valencia of Glendale; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Christy was preceded in death by her grandfather, Pedro G. Valencia.

Services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, at Grace Lutheran Church in Kingman. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at First Arizona Savings in Kingman. Christy will be missed by friends and family alike.
