James M. Haskett
James Marvin Haskett was born in Plainview, Minn., on May 15, 1943, to Cecil and Irene Haskett. He passed away at his home in Kingman on June 24, 2005.
He served in the U.S. Army from July 28, 1961, to June 25, 1964, spending most of his tour in Frankfort, Germany.
He married Linda S. Klingbeil on Nov. 11, 1967, and had two children, Allen and Kimberly. They resided in Winona, Minn., where he worked as a chief inspector at Lake Center Switch Co.
He married Shirley A. Suter on Aug. 19, 1972, and had two children, Heide and Sarah.
He began his career as an optician in Benton Harbor, Mich. They moved to Arizona in 1975. In 1990, Jim became co-owner of Vision Eye Care Center in Lake Havasu City. They moved to Kingman in 2001, where he provided optical repair services to the community and became known as the Frame Mender. In January 2002, Jim and Shirley also became co-owners of JMC Medical Billing Center.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Kimberly. He is survived by Shirley, his wife of 32 years; and his children, Allen, Heide and Sarah. Jim has three sisters, Donna, Myrna and Lolly; and five brothers, Thomas, Robert, Wayne, Dan and John.
He will be deeply missed by his five grandchildren, Makayla and Kristen Haskett and Madisyn, Jayden and Jaymes Ganas, and another little Haskett on the way.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave.
