KINGMAN – Low-key publicity and no formal sales and marketing effort in effect hasn’t hampered reservations at the new Hampton Inn hotel at 1791 Sycamore Ave.

The 86-room, four-story hotel owned by Robert and Michelle Clarke and James and Gisela Freeburg opened two weeks ago, and contrary to the soft opening while workers wrap-up the final touches, bookings are brisk and bound to keep going.

“We’re happy with how business has been already,” said Robert Clarke, mentioning the hotel took 700 reservations in the last four days.

The hotel is close to full capacity for the Laughlin River Run and the Fun Run, Clarke said.

Clarke said the only work left to finish is completion of the 150-person meeting room.

“It’s the biggest meeting space in town,” he said.

Other amenities in the hotel include a business center, fitness center, a “suite shop” and indoor pool and spa.

The hotel also provides a complimentary hot breakfast for guests.

Clarke said he chose the current location because of its proximity to new development, good restaurants and the hospital.

“This is the commercial center of activity,” he said.

Hampton is part of the Hilton Hotels Corporation, which develops, owns, manages or franchises approximately 2,100 hotels, resorts and vacation ownership properties.

Hotel brands in the Hilton portfolio are: Hilton, Conrad, Doubletree, Embassy Suites Hotels, Hampton Inn, Hampton Inn & Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Grand Vacations Company and Homewood Suites by Hilton.
