Investigations continue on two murder cases

GOLDEN VALLEY - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies found more than a weapons offense to which they were dispatched early Wednesday morning.

About 1:30 a.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Eloy Road, MCSO spokeswoman Trish Carter said.

Daniel Kenneth Carey, 36, of Golden Valley was found dead outside a trailer of at least one gunshot wound. Carter could not say to what part of his anatomy Carey was shot or how many times.

Two handguns were recovered at the scene and detectives immediately took over the investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday on Carey.

"We have interviewed witnesses, but have no outstanding suspects at this time," Carter said.

No further details were released on the incident.

Detectives also continue their investigation into the stabbing death early Sunday morning of William Ernest Duncan, 52, of Kingman.

Emergency personnel found Duncan bleeding from a single stab wound to his chest when they arrived at his home in the 3600 block of Butler Avenue about 12:30 a.m. He died a short time later at Kingman Regional Medical Center.

What has been established is Duncan argued with a man at a residence in the 3500 block of Northern Avenue on Saturday night. The suspect, who was identified by witnesses, later went to Duncan's home, tried to force his way in and allegedly stabbed the victim during an altercation.

There was no new information on the case as of this morning, Carter said.
