KINGMAN - Thomas A. Day, 36, of Golden Valley has died of injuries sustained in a rollover accident.

On Oct. 21, Day was westbound on Interstate 40 at milepost 46.8 in a 1985 pickup truck, a news release from the Arizona Department of Public Safety stated.

He lost control of the pickup and it rolled, ejecting him. He was flown to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas and admitted. He died Oct. 26.

However, Sunrise Hospital officials failed to notify the DPS of the fatality until Tuesday.

Seat belts were not being used at the time of the crash and may have prevented the death, the news release stated.


KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's detectives arrested Brian Keith Patrick Mallon, 34, of Kingman on Tuesday on felony charges of theft of means of transportation, trafficking in stolen property, theft, and a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court.

On Nov. 2, deputies took a burglary report in the 4600 block of Desert Trail, a news release from the MCSO stated.

Investigation determined numerous items had been taken from the residence, including a white 2005 Lincoln Navigator.

On Nov. 9, deputies responded to the 5800 block of Pate Road, where they observed a frame of a full-sized SUV that was extensively burned. The vehicle was identified as the Lincoln Navigator.

After further investigation, detectives contacted Mallon on Tuesday in the 4100 block of Eagle Drive and took him into custody. He was booked into Mohave County Jail.

Additional suspects are believed involved and the investigation continues.


KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Sean Michael Clinger, 20, of Bullhead City on Tuesday night on a felony charge of possession of marijuana and felony kidnapping warrant issued by Bullhead City Justice Court.

Bullhead City Police detectives contacted the MCSO with information on the whereabouts of a wanted felon, identified as Clinger.

About 5:50 p.m., deputies contacted Clinger at a residence in the 2800 block of Thompson Avenue, Kingman, about the warrant. He was taken into custody.

A search of Clinger allegedly revealed a plastic bag containing marijuana.

He was booked into Mohave County Jail.


GOLDEN VALLEY - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Greg Jason Kappes, 23, and a 17-year-old male juvenile Tuesday.

Kappes was arrested on felony charges of burglary, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor warrants for shoplifting and failure to appear issued by Kingman Municipal Court.

The juvenile was arrested on a felony probation violation warrant for unlawful use of means of transportation. Mohave County Superior Court issued that warrant.

Deputies responded to a burglary in progress call in the 2000 block of Canelo Road, a news release from the MCSO stated.

Upon arrival, deputies observed pry marks on the front door frame of the residence. They knocked and announced themselves without getting a response.

Deputies entered the residence, found three male subjects hiding in a bathroom and detained them. They observed three pipes with residue and a plastic bag containing marijuana inside the residence.

Kappes and the youth said the third male was a friend who had just arrived.

Record checks on Kappes and the 17-year-old uncovered the warrants.

The youth was booked into Mohave County Juvenile Detention Center, and Kappes was booked into Mohave County Jail.

Further charges are pending a review by the County Attorney's Office.
