Kurds could provide new direction

So the Democrats' "New Direction" includes having our armed forces slinking out of Iraq with their collective tails between their legs like whipped dogs. I find that picture personally offensive and absolutely unacceptable.

Fortunately, there's still a way we can snatch a victory out of the jaws of defeat. But do the cretins in our government have the brains to see it?

The solution involves using the Kurds.

I propose that the entire country of Iraq be turned over to the Kurds. Even the problem of dividing the oil revenues among the three parties (Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds) will disappear because the oil fields are already under Kurdish control.

Over the entire 20th century, the Kurds have been double-crossed by everyone, including the U.S.A.

When George H.W. Bush encouraged the Iraqi people to rise up against Saddam Hussein, the Kurds listened.

But the U.S.A. left them, and Saddam moved in against the Kurds and gassed them by the tens of thousands.

After World War I, the Kurds should have been given their own country (Kurdistan), but the Turks objected. Now we have an opportunity to make amends. When Iraq's name is changed to Kurdistan, the Turks are bound to howl.

But the Turks prolonged the Iraq war and caused the deaths of many Americans by prohibiting the U.S.A from entering Iraq through Turkey.

If we put a finger in Turkey's eye, they have it coming.

The Kurds can be depended upon to continue the fight against the Shiites and Sunnis. They detest the Iraqis for what they did against the Kurds. If they're wise, the Kurds will declare a dark to dawn curfew.

Now, if only Baker's Study Group will come to the same conclusion.

I don't think they will because we're presently being governed by a group of pigeon brains. I'd like to be a fly on the wall when a grieving family that lost a son in the war asks the Democrats, "And so what did my boy die for?"

Those brave men all lost their lives for nothing if we leave defeated. They died to protect our freedom. If we leave without a victory, I don't think we deserve to be free.

May God help and protect this country.
