GOLDEN VALLEY - Fire damaged a singlewide mobile home Wednesday night, but the structure's lone occupant escaped without injury.

About 5:12 p.m., four units and 13 personnel from the Golden Valley Fire Department responded to the 1500 block of Glenbar Road, firefighter Dustin Osborn said.

"Upon arrival, we observed only smoke until we got inside and then found a closet fire," he said. "We kept it from spreading from the bedroom."

A woman, who was inside when the fire began, fled to safety. Damage was confined to the bedroom area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

No dollar estimate of the damage was available.

KINGMAN - A fire that destroyed a doublewide mobile home early Christmas morning is being investigated as a possible case of arson.

About 4 a.m., two battalion chiefs, a ladder company and three engines with a total of 11 personnel from the Hualapai Valley Fire Department responded to the 2600 block of Jagerson Avenue, Battalion Chief Oscar Lopez said.

The unoccupied dwelling was fully involved in flames upon arrival of firefighters. The structure was gutted, but firefighters were able to prevent flames from spreading to a nearby residence to the east.

Lopez said the flash point appears to have been in the front portion of the structure.

No dollar estimate on the loss was available.

No injuries were reported among firefighters.

Anyone with information on the fire should contact the HVFD at 757-3151 or Mohave County Sheriff's Office at 753-0753.
