Man pleads not guilty to killing mother

KINGMAN – A 30-year-old Kingman man pleaded not guilty on Monday to charges that he killed his mother then set her house on fire.

Robert Lee Fisher could face the death penalty or life imprisonment if he’s found guilty of first-degree murder.

He’s also charged with arson and aggravated assault, both felonies, that could add an additional 40 years to his sentence.

Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrest Fisher on Jan. 9 for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

The body of Vivian Neal, 48, of Kingman was found earlier that afternoon after detectives responded to a residential fire at the 3500 block of Lory Lane. Investigations led detectives to consider Neal’s son as a suspect. She was found on her porch already deceased when paramedics arrived.

Fisher became combative and spit on deputies as he was transported to Mohave County Jail, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

He was booked into jail without further incident.
