VALLE VISTA – A 63-year-old Kingman man committed suicide Tuesday night. About 7:55 p.m., the man telephoned the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office and threatened to kill himself, MCSO spokeswoman Trish Carter said.
Deputies responded to the area of Chaparral Road and Concho Drive and found the man lying on the ground.
A unit and three personnel from the Valle Vista Fire Department also responded, Battalion Chief Jerry Lucero said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The handgun used was recovered, Carter said. Carter had no information as to a possible motive for the suicide. MCSO policy is not to release the name of a suicide victim.
KINGMAN – Kingman Police arrested David Lee Schultz, 32, of Kingman early Monday on a felony charge of possession of stolen property and two warrants.
About 2:20 a.m., a traffic stop was made in the 3400 block of Hualapai Mountain Road on a Ford pickup truck, a news release from the KPD stated. Schultz, the driver, was contacted. A records check revealed a felony failure to appear warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court and misdemeanor failure to appear warrant out of Kingman Municipal Court. It also was determined the pickup was reported stolen to the KPD in November from a sales lot in the 1900 block of Broadway Avenue. Schultz was booked into Mohave County Jail.
