KINGMAN – A 29-year-old woman was seriously injured Friday morning when she was struck by a car in the pre-dawn darkness.
About 5:45 a.m., Kingman police and fire units responded to the 2900 block of Beverly Avenue, a news release from the KPD stated.
A 19-year-old woman was driving a vehicle westbound on Beverly when she hit the victim, who apparently was trying to cross the road. The pedestrian was first taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center and then airlifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
The accident is under investigation. Initial indications are the victim was crossing the roadway outside a marked intersection at a location where there is no street lighting that could have made her visible to the motorist.
