Dolores “Lola” Benegas
Her family mourns the loss of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, but we take consolation knowing that she is at peace with our Lord.
She is now reunited with her loving husband Jim Benegas and is now rejoicing at seeing her sisters, Mary Mendoza, Helen Montez, Louise Cruz, Pearl Benegas, Dora Belle Esquibel and her brother, Trini Esquibel.
She passed from this earth on Feb. 17, 2006, in Tucson. “Lola” was born in Mohave County on Aug. 21, 1911, and was married in 1936 to Leonard “Jim” Benegas. She and Jim had a working ranch for many years near Wikieup on the Big Sandy River. They had one daughter, Dorothy, who now lives in Tucson with her husband Michael Murray. Their son Michael lives in Stillwater, Okla., with his wife Wendy.
“Lola” will be missed by her brothers, Raymond Montez, Frank Esquibel, Lawrence Esquibel and Butch Esquibel. There are many nieces and nephews who will miss her also. She was a shining example for us all and we will always be thankful for knowing and loving her.
