VALLE VISTA – Fire, possibly started by a lightning strike, damaged a residence Sunday afternoon.
About 4:02 p.m., an engine and six personnel from the Valle Vista Fire Department responded to the 10000 block of Fawn Circle, Lt. David Terry said.
Moderate smoke was observed coming from the brick structure upon arrival of firefighters. Two adults in the residence escaped without injury.
Fire damage was confined to the attic and no injuries were reported.
WIKIEUP – Two people were airlifted to a Phoenix-area hospital Sunday afternoon following a collision between a semi and pickup truck on U.S. 93.
About 12:30 p.m., an engine and two personnel from the Inland Valley Fire Department’s subsidiary station in Wikieup responded to milepost 156, Chief Dave Marks said.
The semi was northbound and traveling slowly up a grade when the pickup rear-ended it at an estimated 70 mph. The semi driver was not hurt.
The two people in the pickup were flown from the scene, one with critical injuries and the other with serious injuries, Marks said. No further information was available.
GOLDEN VALLEY – One man was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center on Sunday following a rollover accident on Bacobi Road near Highway 68.
About 5:20 p.m., two units and four personnel from the Golden Valley Fire Department responded to the scene, Engineer Boyd Lewis said.
The vehicle contained two occupants. One refused medical treatment.
No further information was available on the patient taken to KRMC.
KINGMAN – Three women were taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center on Sunday evening following a rollover accident on Interstate 40.
An engine and three personnel from the Pinion Pine Fire Department responded to milepost 67, where the eastbound sport utility-type vehicle had come to rest in the median after the accident, Lt. Kevin Maiorano said. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate one victim trapped in the back seat. The front seat passenger reportedly had life-threatening injuries.
No further information was available.
KINGMAN – Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Edward Clinton Southwick III, 50, of Kingman early Sunday on a felony charge of possession of dangerous drugs.
About 12:30 a.m., deputies contacted Southwick during a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Stockton Hill Road, a news release from the MCSO stated.
A records check revealed Southwick’s driver’s license was suspended and he had a misdemeanor failure to pay fines warrant out of Kingman Justice Court.
He was taken into custody.
A search of the vehicle allegedly turned up a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Southwick was booked into Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN – Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Kimberly Denise Jones, 38, of Kingman on Friday on two warrants issued by Kingman Justice Court.
Deputies contacted Jones at a residence in the 2700 block of Suffock Avenue, a news release from the MCSO stated.
A records check on her revealed a felony warrant for failure to appear and misdemeanor warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jones was booked into Mohave County Jail.
