GOLDEN VALLEY – Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested John Paige Trapp, 48, of Golden Valley on Saturday on felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault on a minor, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and misdemeanor charge of failure to comply with a court order.

Deputies responded to a weapons offense call in the 6100 block of Carrizo Road, where they contacted two victims, a news release from the MCSO stated.

A 54-year-old female said she had an order of protection from Trapp, her husband, who allegedly put a gun to her head and threatened to kill her. A 13-year-old female victim alleged Trapp, her father, also had pointed the gun at her. Trapp was inside a motor home on the property and refused to come out. He eventually exited the vehicle and allegedly pointed a handgun at a deputy.

Deputies took cover as Trapp again entered the motor home. After about 30 minutes of negotiations, he came out and surrendered.

Deputies then booked Trapp into Mohave County Jail.
