Clara Hix Vandiver, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, in Kingman. She was born Sept. 12, 1922, in Celina, Tenn.
She was a Kingman resident since October 1964.
Primarily a homemaker, Clara sold lumber at Van’s Handyman Supplies in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
She enjoyed playing the guitar, motor home travels, loved little dogs and cherished the hummingbirds that visited her.
She was a past member of the Eagles and square danced with the Mohave Jaspers.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Dorrell Vandiver; a brother and two sisters. She is survived by three children, Dean Delk and Dal Vandiver of Kingman and David Vandiver of Clarksville, Ohio.
In addition to her children, she is survived by four grandchildren, Tara King of Las Vegas, Shane Schwanbeck, Kelli and Kerri Vandiver of Ohio; as well as four great-grandchildren, Cassie and Katy King, Kelsi Frump and Riley Schwanbeck.
Funeral services will be in Indiana where she lived for many years before coming to Arizona and where she is survived by five sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
