KHS boys finish 3rd in track

KINGMAN – Glenn Douglas and Josh Collins had first-place finishes to lead the Kingman High boys track and field team last week at the London Bridge Invitational in Lake Havasu.

The Bulldog boys placed third overall, three points behind Cibola, and the Kignman girls finished in seventh place.

Douglas won the 800-meter race with a time of 2 minutes, 0.5 seconds, just missing the state qualifying standard of two minutes. Collins cleared 10 feet in the pole vault to win his event.

Matt Snay finished second in the 1,600m run in 4:41.2, less than a second behind the top time. Joe Light was third in the 300m hurdles (44.4), Orry Berlemann was second in the triple jump (36 feet, 8.25 inches) and John Hicks was third in the shot put (40-6 1/2).

Jessica Reinoso had the best day of the Kingman girls with a third place finish in the 800m (2:38.6) and a fourth place time in the 1,600m (5:50.4).
