DOLAN SPRINGS – Fire caused extensive damage on the property of a Dolan Springs homeowner Monday.

About 9 a.m., four units and eight personnel from the Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire Department responded to the corner of 18th and Kimberly streets, Chief Dave Estenson said. “Upon arrival, we found a garage half involved in flames along with a water hauler, RV and pontoon boat next to the garage,” he said.

Firefighters saved the remaining half of the single-car garage with storeroom. The water hauler, RV and pontoon boat were destroyed. The dwelling is separate from the garage and was not damaged.

A half-acre brush fire started by the blaze also was extinguished. The homeowner was not injured, nor were any firefighters hurt.

Estenson said the fire appears to have been accidental in nature and is under investigation. There was no estimated dollar amount available on the damage.

KINGMAN – Kingman Police arrested Keith James Phinney, 22, of Kingman on Sunday night on felony charges of aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

About 6:40 p.m., officers responded to a call about a trespasser at a residence in the 600 block of E. Beale Street, a news release from the KPD stated. Upon arrival, an officer found a subject, identified as Phinney, sleeping on the front porch. Phinney became combative upon waking and allegedly struck the officer in the head and bit his arm.

The officer employed a TASER to subdue Phinney and backup officers arrived to take him into custody. Phinney was not hurt and the minor injuries received by the officer did not require medical treatment.

Phinney was booked into Mohave County Jail.

KINGMAN – Kingman Police arrested Samuel Robert Millim Jr., 18, on Sunday night on a felony charge of criminal damage and misdemeanor charge of minor consumption of alcohol.

About 11:35 p.m., an officer responded to a report of a car being driven on the grass at a park in the 3800 block of Willow Road, a news release from the KPD stated.

Upon arrival, the officer contacted the car, which was occupied by three people. Millim, its owner, allegedly had driven the car on the wet grass and playground area.

Damage to the grass and playground equipment was estimated at $2,000.

Millim was booked into Mohave County Jail. The car’s other two occupants were issued misdemeanor citations and released.

DESERT HILLS – Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Rachel Michelle Dunlap, 22, of Kingman on Sunday on a felony charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies made a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Lake Drive and contacted Dunlap, the driver, a news release from the MCSO stated.

A records check found Dunlap had a suspended driver’s license. A search of Dunlap allegedly produced a glass pipe with residue and a plastic bag containing a white crystal residue.

Dunlap was booked into the Mohave County District II Substation. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.

DOLAN SPRINGS – Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Don Jae Gajus, 47, of Dolan Springs on Sunday on a felony charge of misconduct with a weapon.

Deputies responded to a report of a weapons offense in the 15900 block of Jasper Drive, a news release from the MCSO stated.

Deputies contacted Gajus and, after questioning, booked him into Mohave County Jail.
