Dolan Springs Days supporters honored at potluck

DOLAN SPRINGS -- It takes a lot of time, energy and dedication to put on a community-wide celebration, and those who take the time, expend the energy and show the dedication too often have only a feeling of accomplishment to remind them of the event when it's all over.

The Dolan Springs Chamber of Commerce, however, made sure those people received the recognition they deserved, with a dinner and entertainment in their honor.

"This year was, without a doubt, the best Dolan Days we've ever had and it would have been nothing without all of you people," said Dolan Springs Chamber of Commerce President Norty Turchen.

The chamber honored the businesses and individuals who sponsored and worked on the Sept. 1 and 2 Dolan Springs Days festival with a potluck appreciation dinner at the Dolan Springs VFW hall on Sept. 26.

The Dolan Days committee members were Chamber President Norty Turchen, CarolAnn Revira-Miller, Andela Hardy, Linda Hardy, Rebecca Smith, Gill Devine, Richard Starker, Bill Bump, Lew Henderson, Roger Hansen, Stephanie Steele, parade Grand Marshal Sue Baughman and Marie Hendrick.

Judges were Donna Newman, David White, Gill Morgan, Geenie Greenfield and Dan Wright.

Sponsors were Mardian at White Cliffs, The Land Office, Angela hardy, Arizona Western Desert Realty, Capital Title, Chicago Title, First American Title, TransAmerican Title, State Title, Safeway and Tacky Stuf 4 Horses.

Also honored with certificates of appreciation were VFW Post 9833, American Legion Post 88, AmVet Post 3, the Town Crafters for taking charge of the pancake breakfast and numerous volunteers who handled other various details of the celebration.

The three-piece band Liki Kaneux provided the live entertainment.
