GOLDEN VALLEY - Mohave County Sheriff's detectives are investigating the death of a 10-month-old infant.

About 6 a.m. on Oct. 2, dispatch informed deputies that Golden Valley Fire Department personnel responded to a residence in the 3900 block of Tonto Road in regard to an infant who was not breathing, a news release from the MCSO stated.

The infant, identified as Jacob Schmidt, was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center and deputies responded there.

The child was flown to Children's Hospital in Phoenix, where he died the next day.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiners Office is to perform an autopsy.

Investigation is ongoing.

DOLAN SPRINGS - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Richard Timothy Reightley, 20, of Dolan Springs on Tuesday on a felony probation violation warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court.

Dispatchers informed deputies that Reightley had called to turn himself in on the warrant, a news release from the MCSO stated.

After confirming the warrant, deputies contacted Reightley at a residence in the 15600 block of Iron Drive.

They took Reightley into custody and booked him into Mohave County Jail.

DOLAN SPRINGS - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Widd Allen Kerr, 30, of Dolan Springs on Wednesday night on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, plus misdemeanor charges of driving on a suspended license and no current vehicle registration.

About 10:15 p.m., deputies contacted Kerr during a traffic stop at 14th Street and Pierce Ferry Road, a news release from the MCSO stated.

Deputies observed the driver, identified as Kerr, get out of his vehicle and move toward the front of it.

They contacted Kerr and observed a plastic bag, allegedly containing marijuana, being pulled out of the grill.

Kerr was taken into custody.

A search of Kerr allegedly produced a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

A records check on Kerr turned up the suspended license.

Deputies also noted the vehicle had no license plate.

Kerr was booked into Mohave County Jail. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

KINGMAN - Kingman Police arrested Clifford Eugene Harper, 42, of Kingman on Wednesday on felony charges of aggravated DUI, criminal damage and two misdemeanor warrants.

Officers responded to the 3200 block of Burbank street regarding a vehicle that had crashed into parked cars, a news release from the KPD stated.

Upon arrival, officers found that Harper had driven his 1994 Chevrolet sedan into a parked car.

Investigation determined Harper was southbound when his vehicle veered to the right and struck the parked car.

Harper was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

A records check on him found his driver's license was suspended.

He also had warrants for contempt of court and failure to appear, both issued by Kingman Municipal Court.

Alcohol and drugs are suspected as factors involved in the crash.

Harper was booked into Mohave County Jail.

KINGMAN - Kingman Police arrested Bennett Franklin Pierce, 34, and Katherine Sarah Marquis, 21, both of Kingman on Wednesday night on multiple felony counts of third-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.

About 11:45 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 3800 block of East Andy Devine Avenue after getting word that an employee had detained Marquis for allegedly breaking into vehicles, a news release from the KPD stated.

Upon arrival, officers found Pierce hiding under a vehicle.

Investigation determined both suspects had forced entry into the fenced yard and allegedly were stealing items from parked cars.

Bennett and Pierce were booked into Mohave County Jail.

KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Mitchell Allen Guess, 47, of Kingman on Thursday night on felony charges of burglary and trafficking in stolen property, plus two warrants.

On Sept. 11, deputies took a burglary report from a business in the 7000 block of Flightline Drive, a news release from the MCSO stated.

The reporting party stated the estimated value of the stolen items was $2,000.

He also identified Guess as a suspect.

After on-going investigation, deputies confirmed Guess' involvement. They contacted Guess about 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the 3100 block of Northern Avenue.

A records check turned up a felony failure to appear warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court and misdemeanor failure to pay fines warrant out of Kingman Municipal Court.

Guess was taken into custody. After questioning about the stolen items, he was booked into Mohave County Jail.

GOLDEN VALLEY - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Kelly Roger Nelson, 33, of Golden Valley on Thursday night on felony warrants for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

About 5 p.m., deputies contacted Nelson in the area of Chino drive and Verde Road, a news release from the MCSO stated.

A records check uncovered the warrants issued by Bullhead City Justice Court.

Nelson was booked into Mohave County Jail.

DOLAN SPRINGS - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Douglas Jay Kloepfer, 44, of Dolan Springs on Thursday on two warrants.

About 12:30 p.m., deputies contacted Kloepfer in the area of Highway 93 and Pierce Ferry Road, a news release from the MCSO stated.

A records check uncovered a felony probation violation warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court and misdemeanor failure to pay fines warrant out of Kingman Justice Court.

Kloepfer was booked into Mohave County Jail.

KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Mary Jo Brawner, 35, of Kingman on Oct. 2 on a felony probation violation warrant issued by Kingman Municipal Court.

Deputies responded to a report of a trespasser in the 3500 block of Hearne Avenue, a news release from the MCSO stated.

They contacted a woman, identified as Brawner. A records check on her found the warrant.

Brawner was booked into Mohave County Jail.
