In case you missed Oprah Winfrey's Kingman visit on her TV show, you missed nothing.
Just before the first commercial break, she led into the pre-commercial break by mentioning that her next stop was at a place where she drank the best root beer she ever tasted. She was right about that. Oprah was griping and complaining upon arrival at Mr. D'z Route 66 Diner and continued to do so quite a while after their arrival.
What really bothered me the most, because I've been in this situation myself, was when she was very rude to a fan who entered the diner to meet her. A young lady entered the diner while in the process of having her hair highlighted, complete with tin foil applied to her hair. She was also wrapped in the customary large body bib that a hairdresser drapes around you. Oprah immediately questioned the tin foil which really wasn't so out of line. What was uncalled for on Oprah's part was her sendoff comment of telling the young lady to get that tin foil out of her hair. She wasn't friendly about it, either. Not even semi-joking about it. If I had approached her as a Kingman resident, as did the young lady in question, and was treated as she was, Oprah Winfrey would have more to remember about Kingman than the root beer.
