KINGMAN - The Kingman Pop Warner Junior Midget Black and Gold teams went head to head on Saturday and needed triple overtime to determine a champion.
Still scoreless after four quarters and one overtime session, each team scored in the second overtime to keep the game going. In the third extra period, Mason Neal scored for the Black Cobras to give his team a 12-6 victory against the Gold team.
In other Pop Warner action last weekend, Bullhead City and Kingman's Tiny Mite Flag football game ended in a 14-14 tie. Brandan Mooney scored two touchdowns for the Cobras. Bullhead beat Kingman's Jr. Pee Wee team 13-6. Preston Hadfield scored the Cobras' touchdown. Bullhead beat Kingman's Pee Wee team, 20-0.
Lake Havasu No. 2 beat the Kingman Mitey Mite Gold team 19-13, in which Cobra players Dallas Morgan and Steven Roby found the end zone. Havasu No. 1 beat Kingman's Mitey Mite Black team 31-0. The Cobras Midget team beat Lake Havasu 31-0 with touchdown scores from two different Kingman players.
This Saturday's afternoon games in Kingman involve the Cobras against Havasu in the Junior Pee Wee, Pee Wee and Junior Midget divisions. Kingman will also be at home in the Mighty Mite division against Parker at 11 a.m. and in the Midget division versus River Valley at 7 p.m.
