KINGMAN - Two off-duty firefighters headed to work Saturday morning at the Hualapai Valley Fire Department noticed a large column of smoke and discovered a fire inside a detached garage. About 6:30 a.m., the firefighters investigated the smoke in the 4800 block of N. Sierra Road, a news release from the HVFD stated. They found a hatchback-type vehicle inside the garage engulfed with fire and used a portable radio to summon help. While awaiting responding units, they awakened the lone occupant of the adjacent residence and the individual escaped without injury.

Upon arrival, firefighters gained control of the fire, limiting damage to the garage and vehicle. Four units and 13 personnel responded to the scene. Cause of the fire is under investigation. No dollar amount for the loss was available.


KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's detectives arrested Ronnie Lee Carson, 25, of Kingman on March 28 on a felony failure to appear warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court.

Detectives contacted Carson at a residence in the 2300 block of Thompson Avenue about the warrant, a news release from the MCSO stated. He was booked into Mohave County Jail.
