Turchen looking for voter support

By now, most of you have heard that I am a candidate for Mohave County Board of Supervisors District 1. Although the election seems far into the future; it's time for me to roll up my sleeves and get started.

My agenda when elected will be as follows: Drivable roads throughout all rural areas, a Mohave County Sheriffs Office with a holding cell in distant rural areas, better drug enforcement and appointing new officers if deemed necessary, stronger animal control enforcement, and rescinding Ordinance 90-1 that calls for a permit and license fee to operate a kitchen in all nonprofit organizations, which also includes schools. It's not fair that organizations such as the V.F.W., American Legion, Am-Vets, D.A.V., and many other fine non-profit clubs be forced to pay these permit fees. They are already regulated by the county Health Department and inspected periodically. The kitchens in these organizations are not used on a daily basis. Let's not force them to close their doors.

I would also rescind Ordinance 98-10 which calls for a payroll employee to be a kitchen manager. This requires each organization to have this person go to Phoenix for training adding expenses. Since all kitchen help is required to have a food handler's card, I feel these ordinances are without merit.

My temporary office is located in Dolan Springs at Tacky Stuf 4 Horses located on Pierce Ferry Road at the Ranch Club. If you are not a registered voter or need a name or address change, we have these forms available, and as always, my door is always open.

If you would like to join the growing number of constituents who are supporting me, I can be reached at (702) 561-8426 or (928)767-3833 or via e-mail at Norty4dist1supervisor@yahoo.com.
