GOLDEN VALLEY - A man was seriously injured Tuesday night when the all-terrain vehicle he was riding struck his dog.
About 11:20 p.m., one unit and four personnel from the Golden Valley Fire Department responded to the 1000 block of Santa Maria Road, engineer Boyd Lewis said.
Henry Lopez, 27, of Golden Valley was southbound at a high rate of speed when his ATV hit his bulldog mix, Mohave County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Trish Carter said. Lopez was not wearing a helmet when the ATV flipped. The dog was killed by the impact.
The victim sustained head injuries from the crash and was airlifted by Care Flight to University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
KINGMAN - Kingman Police arrested Nickolaus Anthony Gerencser, 19, and Christopher Wayne Conner, 20, both of Kingman, on Sunday night on felony charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
About 5:10 p.m., officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at a business in the 3400 block of E. Andy Devine Avenue, a news release from the KPD stated. Gerencser and Conner were contacted and both allegedly were found in possession of marijuana. The suspects were booked into Mohave County Jail with Gerencser also being charged with misdemeanor shoplifting.
KINGMAN - Kingman Police arrested Jamie Danielle Davis, 27, of Kingman early Monday on a felony charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
About 1:50 a.m., Davis was contacted during a traffic stop in the 2000 block of E. Andy Devine Avenue, a news release from the KPD stated. Davis allegedly was in possession of drug paraphernalia and was taken into custody. She was booked into Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Tammy Sue Estes, 41, of Kingman on Saturday night on felony charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, narcotic drug violation, and misdemeanor charge of threatening/intimidating.
About 6:40 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance in the 4600 block of Powell Avenue, a news release from the MCSO stated.
The 37-year-old male victim stated Estes, a neighbor, had thrown rocks and pieces of metal at him. He also reported Estes had climbed over a fence and threatened to hurt him and his animals.
Deputies contacted Estes and during questioning observed her threaten the victims several times. She was taken into custody. A search of Estes' purse allegedly produced marijuana, narcotic pills and a glass smoking device. She was booked into Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies and detectives arrested Dana Lee Shumate, 27, and Jerrett Daniel Busby, 31, both of Kingman on Monday on felony charges of escape and attempt to commit.
Officers responded to Mohave County Jail regarding an escape attempt, a news release from the MCSO stated.
Deputies contacted the jail director, who reported hearing sounds of digging as he stood outside the main entrance to the jail. He further reported seeing stucco fall from the building above him. Detention officers responded to the area above where the jail director was standing. They observed inmates Shumate and Busby inside the b-pod area and an area where grout had been removed from the wall. Both were booked on the new charges.
Shumate was in custody on a felony failure to appear warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court, and misdemeanor charges of trespassing and shoplifting. Busby was in jail charged with two counts of aggravated assault, four counts of aggravated domestic violence, three counts of endangerment, all felonies, plus a misdemeanor assault charge.
