1948 - 2007
Kathy, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, died Monday, July 23, 2007, in an automobile accident.
Kathy was born in Ogden, Utah, July 20, 1948, to Horace and Vanetta Andrews, the third of five children. She attended schools in Morgan and Cedar City, Utah, and later graduated from the College of Southern Utah where she met her husband, Raymond Pini. The marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. Ray and Kathy are the proud parents of seven children and 14 grandchildren.
Ray and Kathy have lived in Cedar City; Las Vegas; Kingman; Moab, Utah; Salina, Utah, Gilbert; and Clifton, Ariz.
Kathy loved working with children and spent many years as a preschool teacher. Later she went back to college and earned her BS and master's degree in elementary education from SUU, and was currently teaching in Clifton. Kathy was a master teacher and was loved and respected by her students, their parents, and her colleagues.
As a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kathy willingly served in various positions, often doing service for others. She loved her family and was the happiest when she was with her children and grandchildren.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Raymond; and their children, Michele (Richard) Farabee, Stacee (Aaron) Porter, Todd (Alisa) Pini, Ryan (Tina) Pini, Tyree Pini and Colt (Emilee) Pini; parents, Horace and Vanetta Andrews; and brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Toni Lynne Pini.
Funeral services were held July 30 at the LDS Stake Center in Moab. Internment was at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Moab.
