Edward Joseph Bathauer of Kingman passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007. He was 74. Ed was born in Chicago on March 10, 1933, to George and Elizabeth Bathauer. He married his loving wife, Mary Therese Moylan, on Sept. 13, 1952. He moved his family to California in 1967 and here to Kingman in 1977.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Therese, and eight children: son, Edward G. Bathauer and wife Lynn of California; daughter, Cheryl M. Blake and husband Joey of California; daughter, Mary A. Morales and husband Thomas of California; daughter, Terri L. Smith and husband Smitty of Kingman; daughter, Fran E. Meins of Kingman; daughter, Julie E. Danley Crook of Tucson; daughter, Elizabeth H. Pruit and husband Tim of Kentucky; and son, John J. Bathauer and wife Anne of Kingman. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; his sister, Rose Costa and husband John of Illinois; sister, Mary Hinderleiter and husband Gene of Florida; sister-in-law, Betty Brown and husband Bill of Scottsdale; and brother-in-law, Thomas Moylan of Ireland, along with many nieces and nephews throughout the states and Ireland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth, along with two brothers, nine sisters and two great-grandchildren.
He served our country in the U.S. Marines from 1953 through 1961. Ed loved fishing, bowling and baseball. Watching his children and grandchildren in all their sports and hobbies made him very proud to be a husband, father and grandfather.
Ed touched the hearts of many and leaves behind many dear friends. There will be a communion service at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 27. Ed's ashes will be taken to Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nev., at a later date. A celebration of life will follow at Ed and Mary's home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations be made in Ed's memory to St. Mary's building fund.
