Shirley Ann Roper, born Feb. 25, 1936, in Dexter, Iowa, passed away Dec. 2, 2007, in Kingman. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. J. (Bill) Roper. They met and married in Tucson in 1956. They moved to Kingman in 1959. Shirley owned and managed several businesses; she was active in Little League, 4-H and the Republican Women and the party.
Shirley is survived by son, Ted Roper of Kingman; daughter, Valarie Morton of Kingman; granddaughter, Jessica Morton of Kingman; son-in-law, Rodger Morton of Kingman; and son-in-law, Harley Smith.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, people wanting to do something may make a donation in Shirley's name to the Humane Society.
In accordance with the last will and testament, there will be no funeral or memorial services; there will be a celebration of life for both Bill and Shirley Roper from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, at Kingman Elk's Lodge, 900 Gates Ave.
