KINGMAN - At 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, the Kingman Police Department arrested Jeri Lee Thornhill, 42, of Kingman on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor.

Officers had responded to a disturbance at a bar in the 1700 block of Hoover Street. Upon arrival it was learned that Thornhill was allegedly refusing to leave the bar. Thornhill continued to refuse after being ordered by officers and was subsequently taken into custody for criminal trespass. Thornhill was booked into the Mohave County Jail.

KINGMAN - At 7 p.m. on Sunday, the Kingman Police Department arrested Jose Huerta Alvarez, 24, of Kingman, on charges of sex offender registration violation, identity theft, fugitive from justice and a misdemeanor.

Alvarez was contacted after being arrested for allegedly shoplifting at a business in the 3300 block of east Andy Devine Ave. During the arrest, Alvarez allegedly identified himself using another person's identification. After his identity was confirmed, it was discovered that he had a felony warrant out of Oregon for larceny and that he allegedly was a sex offender. He allegedly had not registered locally as a sex offender. Alvarez was booked into the Mohave County Jail.

GOLDEN VALLEY - Two Westside Disposal trash trucks caught fire Sunday at 4:27 a.m.

The Golden Valley Fire Department responded to the company's compound at Highway 93 near milepost 62. They were able to extinguish the blaze. The cause is still under investigation.

DOLAN SPRINGS - The Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire Department responded to a structure fire early Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded at 4:15 a.m. to an abandoned home near the intersection of Pierce Ferry Road and Canyon Drive. They were able to extinguish the fire and clear the scene around 6 a.m.

KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's detectives arrested William Walter Fowler, 38, of Kingman early Friday afternoon for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of weapon in drug offense, possession weapon by prohibited person and two outstanding warrants.

At approximately 12:10 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop at Bluebird Lane and Mallard Drive. The driver, later identified as Fowler, exited the vehicle. As deputies approached Fowler, he turned and left on foot into a wash area. Detectives and deputies followed Fowler. Fowler resisted orders and would not comply with detectives' commands. A taser was eventually used to place Fowler into custody after he turned toward a detective in an aggressive manner. Fowler was taken into custody in the 3600 block of Bluebird Lane. A K-9 unit responded to the location of the initial traffic stop and conducted a search of the vehicle. The K-9 reportedly alerted his handler to illegal drugs. Detectives also located a loaded semi-automatic 45-caliber pistol. A records check showed Fowler to have an arrest prior to requisition felony warrant issued out of Sacramento, Calif., and a contempt of court misdemeanor warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court. Fowler was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.

KINGMAN - At 11:15 a.m. on Friday, the Kingman Police Department arrested Jeffery Leonard Howell, 50, of Kingman on five counts of prescription fraud.

Police were summoned to a business in the 2800 block of east Andy Devine Avenue regarding a forged prescription allegedly presented by Howell. Subsequent investigation revealed that Howell had allegedly submitted a total of five forged prescriptions over the last several months. He was booked into the Mohave County Jail.
