Robert went peacefully to rest in the arms of our Lord on Dec. 5, 2007. He was attended with loving care at home by KRMC Hospice. He fought a hard battle against cancer. He passed away with his fiancée, Barbara Ellis, and his sister, Goldie Cruggs, by his side.
He was born March 31, 1932, in Fort Sumter, N.M. The family moved to Idaho in 1943, where he grew up camping, fishing and hunting in the mountains of Idaho. He had a real zest for life. His friendly attitude and winning smile won the hearts of everyone he met. He never knew a stranger. He leaves an emptiness in the hearts of all who knew him.
He lived most of his adult life in the Washington, D.C., area, where he met Barbara, and they soon became soulmates. They moved to Kingman in 1996, where they shared their love and lives until his death.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother. He is survived by his fiancée, Barbara; four sisters, Bernice Roberts of Dumas, Texas; Billie Pennington of Grandview, Idaho; Mary Clements of Spokane, Wash.; and Goldie Cruggs of Mountain Home, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be under the direction of Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. Following Bob's wishes, there will be no services.
