In memory of Mary E. Chamberlain. On Dec. 6, 2007, Mary passed away while at Cerbat Guest House and went home to be with the Lord. Mary was born Feb. 26, 1923, in Carmichaels, Pa. She moved with her family to Arizona in 1959, and in 1968, they moved to Kingman, making it their permanent home.
Over the years, Mary owned and operated her own Mode-O-Day dress shop. She and her husband also ran Dodson's Market. After selling Dodson's, her greatest satisfaction came from being a wife, mother and grandmother. She could also always be counted on to reach out and help other family members, friends and neighbors. She was also known on many occasions to help those less fortunate that she had never met. She knew no stranger. Mary is a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all.
Mary was preceded in death and has been rejoined with her husband, Paul Chamberlain; daughter, Mary Beth; son, Paul Jr.; and adopted son, Terry Powell. Mary is survived by her two remaining sons, Charles (Agnes) and David (Adrienne). She will also be greatly missed by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and all who were touched by her love and generosity.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, at Norvel Owens Mortuary located at 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff. The Rev. Sam Grammer of Flagstaff will be presiding. A private family burial will follow at Williams Cemetery in Williams.
