Daniel Lee McCumber, 58, owner of McCumber's Super Service, died suddenly at his home on Monday, July 16, 2007. He was born Feb. 19, 1949, in Kingman, the second of three sons to Burton Lytle McCumber and Florence Imogene Mark-McCumber. He was a member of the Kingman High School Class of 1967. He was united in marriage with Lillian Denton-McCumber on March 22, 1971.
Dan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as a bishop of the Hualapai Foothills Ward from 1991 to 1995. He also faithfully held many other callings in the church and served the community as well. Dan was a member of the Clean City Commission and the Business License Review Board.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Florence McCumber of Kingman. He leaves behind his brothers, Burton Andrew McCumber of Texas and Matthew Alan McCumber of Kingman; his wife, Lillian McCumber of Kingman; children, Christine (Thomas) Keeler of Kingman, David (Kim) McCumber of Willard, Utah, Matthew (Charity) McCumber of Kingman, Burton (Victoria) McCumber of Mesa, Wendi McCumber of Kingman, Joanna (Jesus) Valles of Mesa, Danica (Roger) Hoyle of Cedar City, Utah, Linda (Thomas) Boatman of Kingman and their youngest daughter, Theresa McCumber of Kingman; and 18 grandchildren, Trina Meyers; Jonathan Meyers; Victor Keeler; Burgundy, Jaden, Aubrey, and Austin McCumber; Zachary McCumber; Alexander, Mary, Juliana, Katelynn, Abigail and Emily McCumber; Sydnee Hoyle; Porsche Fellers; and Elizabeth and Emily Boatman.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 20, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the corner of Southern and Eastern at 1 p.m. with public viewing at noon. Graveside services will follow immediately afterward at Mountain View Cemetery on Stockton Hill Road.
