Chamber planning now for Dolan Springs Day festivities coming up on Sept. 1

DOLAN SPRINGS - Once a year, small communities have the unique chance to give special recognition to someone who has been a bastion of the community. It's time now for Dolan Springs residents to consider who will have the honor of being named grand marshal of the Dolan Springs Day parade coming up in just 11 weeks.

Nominations for the parade grand marshal are open now. This year's parade theme is "Making Dreams Come True in Dolan Springs, Arizona."

The Sept. 1 festivities will include the traditional Dolan Springs Day parade, car show, games, entertainment, vendors and some impressive raffle prizes.

Those prizes include a Grand Canyon Whitewater adventure for two, valued at $600; a Valley of Fire ATV adventure for two, valued at $400; a Black Canyon float rafting adventure for two at the base of the Hoover Dam, valued at $250; a kayaking adventure for two, valued at $350; and eagle-eye views in a glider/soaring adventure for two, valued at $200; along with overnight stays and dinners in Las Vegas, Laughlin, at the Hualapai Lodge, in Overton, and in Mesquite; shows; dance lessons at Delgado Studios and more.

Round-trip transportation is included in all of the adventure prizes.

Tickets are on sale now for $1 each, five for $6 or 12 for $10, at Adventure Concierge, Tacky Stuf 4 Horses and the Tax Place.
