Patricia (Patt) Sims of Kingman died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, in Kingman. She was born April 21, 1932, in Burnside, Mich., and came to Kingman six years ago from Casper, Wyo.
She graduated from Golden West College as a licensed cosmetologist. She was very proud of being licensed in Michigan, Wisconsin, California and Wyoming.
She was part-owner and lead instructor in three cosmetology schools in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Patt was a member of the Mohave County Gemstoners Rock Club, Masonic Temple, Order of the Eastern Star, Red Hat Club and Bethel Baptist Church in Casper.
Patt is survived by her husband, David L. Sims of Kingman; a daughter, Lois (Erv) Lyons of Parker; two sons, James (Carolyn) Newton of Garden Grove, Calif., and Robert Newton of Arizona; and a stepson, Roger (Mary) Trester of Auburn, Calif. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Leslie Newton, Brooke Newton, Brandi Hull, James Newton, Larry Wagner and Bobby Newton, and three great-grandchildren, Allexxis, Kristina and Dylan.
Patt was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marie Tyler; one brother, Glen; her baby sister, Lois Yvonne; and most of her relatives.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 18, at Praise Chapel, 419 Harrison St., Kingman, AZ 86401; telephone: 753-9200.
