Fire Department: Keep down weeds and help to prevent brush fires

KINGMAN - The Kingman Fire Department needs your help to prevent brush fires this summer.

The city asks that residents keep weeds down, pull, mow or cut them while they are green and before they dry out and become fire hazards. This includes weeds around fence lines, sheds, woodpiles, garages and other structures. Remember, it's also the homeowners' responsibility to maintain weeds in alleys behind their properties.

Help neighbors or family members if they need assistance, teach children about the dangers of playing with fire and don't throw cigarettes from car windows.

Contact the Sanitation Department at 753-5561 if you need cut weeds picked up. Free burn permits also are available at any Kingman fire station from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you notice an area where the weeds are overgrown and become a fire hazard, contact the Fire Department at 753-2891.
