Viola passed away June 8, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 2, 1926, in Hawaii where she grew up. She then graduated from San Diego State with her teaching degree. She married Yale Jeffery and lived in Vista, Calif. After many years of coaching softball, hockey and basketball, she retired from Palomar College, San Marcos, Calif., in 1974. She and her husband moved to Kingman in 1975 where they both enjoyed motorcycle riding, camping and water skiing.
Her husband was in heaven to greet her. She is survived by a daughter, Tracy Myers, and grandchildren in Hanford, Calif., where Tracy is following in her mother's footsteps as a teacher and coach; and a son, Yale Jr. and his wife who live in New Zealand. Two of her grandchildren, Brad and Katrinia, live in Southern California. Viola was active volunteering at the senior center until she became ill.
We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. It broke all your neighbors' and friends' hearts, but you did not go alone. Our hearts went with you, Vi.
