KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Shawn Michele Norton, 34, of Lake Havasu City, and James Matthew Galbreth, 47, of Bullhead City, on June 18 on felony charges of second-degree escape and jail destruction.
Deputies responded to the Mohave County Jail in regards to an escape attempt, a news release from the MCSO stated.
A detention officer reported hearing sounds of digging and during an inspection found damage to a wall inside a cell in the c-pod area. Norton and Galbreth reside in that cell.
Deputies observed where grout was dug out of about six bricks. They booked Norton and Galbreth on the new charges.
Norton has been incarcerated since May 6, when he was arrested on felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon without permit, possession/use of a weapon during a drug offense, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, and misdemeanor charges of criminal damage, assault and interfering with judicial proceedings.
Galbreth has been in jail since May 18, when he was arrested on a felony parole violation warrant issued by the Arizona Department of Corrections and misdemeanor failure to pay fines warrant out of Bullhead City Municipal Court.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Tharon Wade Hays, 33, of Kingman on Tuesday on a felony theft of means of transportation warrant, plus three misdemeanor failure to appear warrants, all issued by Kingman Justice Court.
Deputies contacted Hays as he rode a bicycle in the area of Marshall Drive and Suffock Avenue, a news release from the MCSO stated.
A records check turned up the warrants. Hays was booked into Mohave County Jail.
