Introduce kids to new things

This letter is to all the people in Kingman who say, "There's nothing for the kids to do."

Just a few activities come to mind: Scouting, both for boys and girls, Dolphin Club for swimming, classes for junior hunters, softball, baseball, Pop Warner football, skateboard park, gymnastics, chess clubs, Boys and Girls Club, Parks and Recreation programs, all of our schools have programs from drama clubs, robotics clubs, football, track and field, baseball, soccer, basketball and numerous others, including bowling leagues.

Maybe if there was more involvement by the parents in introducing their children to these numerous programs and activities, we would not hear, "There's nothing for the kids to do."

Most activities require money for insurance, equipment, transportation, etc. Many field trips are made available by the Parks and Recreation Department, BLM, schools, churches and other events put on by the many clubs we have such as the Elks, Moose, Eagles, Rotary Clubs and others.

The bottom line is, parents have to introduce their children to one or more of these and hope they get involved. No one is going to force your child to participate.
