KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Paula Jean Thomas, 30, of Kingman on Thursday night on a felony charge of aggravated DUI.

Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 3900 block of Schaeffer Avenue, a news release from the MCSO stated. About 8 p.m., a backup deputy approaching the scene stopped a vehicle about to leave. Deputies contacted Thomas, the driver, and observed two juveniles in the vehicle. The children were identified as Thomas' sons, ages 12 and 5.

Deputies detected an odor of alcohol about Thomas. After field-sobriety testing, she was taken to Mohave County Jail, where analysis of her blood alcohol concentration was found to be .098 percent. Thomas was booked into jail. The children were released to a relative.


KINGMAN - A truck driver escaped injury Saturday when the propane truck he was operating blew a tire and rolled onto its passenger side.

About 10:30 a.m., four personnel from the Golden Valley Fire Department responded to the median on Interstate 40 near milepost 38, firefighter Daniel Burgan said.

Personnel from the Yucca Fire Department already were on scene. The driver of the westbound truck was outside his vehicle and walking around. He refused medical treatment.
