Judy Leivas, 76, passed away peacefully in her home in Kingman on Friday, Oct. 12, 2007. Born Sept. 4, 1931, in Utica, N.Y., she lived in Palatine Bridge, N.Y., until moving to Prescott in June 1962. From there she spent many years in Parker, waitressing at Coffee Erns, and has lived in Kingman for the past 15 years. Those who knew her will remember her as a dedicated and somewhat opinionated waitress, having worked for the past 13 years at the Petro Iron Skillet in Kingman.
She is survived by her children: Bonnie Slater, Diane Hoover, Bob Peters, Susan Glover, Patti Peters, Richard Peters and Jim Peters; along with 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. All of her children and many friends would like to take this opportunity to state how proud we are of her, having been a recovered alcoholic for the past 13 years, an illness which took great strength and courage to battle.
In lieu of a memorial service, the family requests that any words of encouragement and remembrances of our mom be mailed to Susan Glover, 757 W. Jersey Way, Queen Creek, AZ 85243. These words will be shared at a later date when the scattered family can come together to fulfill the last requests of our Mom.
