Mohave County Sheriff
Donald Glen Branson, 27, of Golden Valley, arrested on April 3 on felony charges of possession of stolen property and possession of a vehicle with removed, defaced or altered VIN numbers, and a warrant.
At 4:30 p.m., deputies observed a vehicle matching the description of a reported stolen vehicle out of Bullhead City, an early 1980s Toyota pick-up with no doors or roof, and having a roll cage around the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
As deputies were preparing to conduct a traffic stop, the driver stopped the vehicle along the shoulder of the roadway in the 3300 block of Aztec Road, and the driver, identified as Branson, got out.
Branson allegedly said he bought the vehicle for $100 from a guy two days earlier.
Deputies found a vehicle identification number that did not match the reported stolen vehicle.
Upon further investigations, they found another VIN, which matched the stolen vehicle.
Branson was taken into custody without incident.
A records check showed Branson had a probation violation misdemeanor warrant, issued by Kingman Municipal Court on an original charge of theft.
Branson was booked into the Mohave County Jail, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
