Suspicious man prompts warning

LAKE HAVASU CITY - The Mohave County Sheriff's Office is warning parents and children to be on the lookout for a suspicious man.

The office received a call around 2 p.m. on Saturday of a man asking inappropriate questions to a 12-year-old girl in the 1900 block of Thrasher Drive in Desert Hills, near Lake Havasu.

The girl was riding her bicycle when the male subject stopped his car and started talking to her.

At first the man asked her if she knew or had seen a female friend of his. He then started asking the girl inappropriate sexual questions and began to exit his vehicle.

The girl rode her bicycle to a nearby residence.

According to MCSO, the male suspect is in his late 20s or early 30s with very short, dark brown hair and was wearing rectangular sunglasses with a logo on the stem. He was also driving a dark blue, 2-door vehicle with a sunroof.

"We remind all parents and children to be cautious when out alone and to not speak to strangers," MCSO Public Information Specialist Trish Carter said.

Anyone with information should contact MCSO at 522-4312 or Silent Witness at (888) 227-8780.
