Library to raise money at book sale

The Friends of the Valle Vista Library will hold their spring book and bake sale at the library from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Donations for the sale may be dropped off at the library during regular hours.

The movie "3:10 to Yuma" will be shown at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the librry. This movie is rated R.

All you men out there, be sure to sign up for the Men's Chili Cook-Off to be held on April 20 at the clubhouse. Sign up sheets are at the clubhouse or you may contact members of the Activities Committee. Following the judging the chili will be offered to the public for a donation of $4 per person. The Activities Committee will provide fixings; cornbread and cupcakes and drinks may be purchased at the bar.

The new menus at the restaurant are out and they will now offer prime rib every Saturday night for dinner.

The first golf tournament of the season will be the 1st Annual Kingman Air and Auto Show Golf Tournament on April 26. The format will be a four person scramble - pick your own team. Please call the Pro Shop at 757-8744 to sign up for the tournament.

On April 2 the Men's Club had 32 members play to a format of 4 man teams, 3 play scramble, 1 play net score. The results were: 1st place - Dale Glenn, Steve Karlovics, Pete Schmitt and Nick Fix; 2nd place - Ken VanDerSloot, Jim Tindall, Mike Rose and Norm Hilts. Closest to the pin went to Ken VanDerSloot on 2, Mike Rohm on 7, Mike Harback on 11 and Jim Jansen on 16.

The Ladies Club held their monthly scramble this past Thursday. 1st place went to the team of Gladys Young, Shirley Tilley and Mary Moist with a net score of 54. Second place went to the team of Betty Westley, Bobbie Hudgins, Christie Fiore and BJ Ridgeway with a net 58.5.

Greenies went to Christie on 2 and 7, Gladys on 11 and Shirley on 16.
