Chelsey Burden, 18, was recently selected as a Student Rotarian by the Kingman Rotary Club.
Chelsey is a senior at Kingman High School and spoke to the Rotary on March 12. She is the daughter of Jack and Cindy Burden.
When asked how she felt about being selected, she said, "I think it is nice of the Kingman Rotary Club to acknowledge the extra effort some students put into their high school years."
Among her many honors and awards are National Honor Society, KHS Tennis, March Band/Drumline, school plays, Dambar hostess, Creative Writing Club president, Theatre Club member, peer mediator and International Thespian Society member.
In her Rotary presentation, Chelsey discussed the genocide in Darfur, the protest against school violence and poetry that explains the damage that is done when good people stand by and do nothing.
Chelsey plans to further her education at Northern Arizona University majoring in Humanities.
