Walt Seapy was born in Upland, Calif., on Sept. 4, 1947, to Irving Walter Seapy Jr. and Barbara May Smith Seapy, and passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, in Kingman from complications of diabetes.
Walt was a resident of Mohave County since the summer of 1959 when his family moved to the Big Sandy. He graduated from Owens Elementary School and attended Mohave County Union High School, graduating in 1965.
He attended some college in Southern California, and then decided he wanted to work instead of school.
He worked for a drilling company for a couple of years, when he went to work for Mohave Electric Cooperative in September 1967 where he was still on the payroll at his passing.
Walt is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Seapy of Kingman; his father, Irving Seapy Jr. of Branson, Mo.; his sister, Jessica Kolesar of Jackson, Calif.; niece, Vanessa (Jeremy) Elmas of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; his mother-in-law, LaVonna Burk of Kingman; his sister-in-law, Cheryl Burk of Kingman; his brother-in-law, Mitchell (Dixie) Burk of Kingman; niece, Corie (Steve) Queen of Kingman; nephew, Justin Burk of California; great-niece, Dustee Morris; and great-nephew, Tyler VanNurden of Kingman.
His mother, Barbara Seapy, preceded Walt in death in April of 2008.
Per Walt's request, cremation was performed by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3180 Rutherford Drive, Kingman.
